He died on 14 Jan 1934 in Lisbon Township, Kendall County, Illinois. He was buried on 17 Jan 1934 in Helmar Cemetery, Big Grove Township, Kendall County, Illinois. He was buried in Helmar Cemetery, Big Grove Township, Kendall County, Illinois.

He was married to Charlotte Marie "Lottie" Oyen (daughter of Ole Oyen and Elizabeth Catharine) on 28 Feb 1878 in Cook County, Illinois. Charlotte Marie "Lottie" Oyen was born on 9 Jan 1859 in Tronedjein, Norway. She died on 31 Jan 1915. She was buried in Helmar Cemetery, Big Grove Township, Kendall County, Illinois. Lewis Christian and Charlotte Marie "Lottie" Oyen had the following children:

+51 ii. Alvin Earl Christian.
+52 iii. Frederick Odin "Fred" Christian.

He was married to Betsey Starr. Betsey Starr was born on 20 Jan. She died on 20 Jun 1934.
