Christian Christianson and family immigrated to America from Norway aboard the Kong Sverre in 1847, settling in Kendall County, Illinois. Eventually three of his sons, John, Charles, and Ole, all of whom used the surname "Christian", migrated to Story County, Iowa. His oldest son Christian remained in Illinois and kept the name "Christianson", although descendants used "Christian." The only daughter, Elizabeth, died shortly after giving birth, as did her baby, leaving no descendants. Christian Sr. died in Illinois, but his wife, Ales, moved to Story Co. Iowa to live with her son John.
A reunion of all descendant of Christian Christianson is planned for late July, 2000 in Story County, Iowa. If you are an interested descendant, contact me for details.
