The 1902 Story County Atlas was published by The Huebinger Surveying & Map Publication Company of Davenport, Iowa, Copyright 1902. The maps are organized by township, showing major land owners in the county. The names were obviously taken from county records. Lot owners in towns were not included. Since owners are listed, the actual residents are not evident as many properties may have been rented.
Each township is organized into 36 sections. This index was created by transcribing the owner names and the township and section location of the land. In some instances the property extended beyond one section, therefore up to four sections may be listed for a given property.

The information contained in this index contains errors. Some may have been made in the orginal court documents. Some were made by the map company when it created the Atlas. And, of course, this transcription of the Atlas may have introduced errors. If information contained here is important to your research, you should verify it.
